It figures that the first day Buddy rode in the baby swing at the playground, I would not have my camera with me. I got it on the phone, but am in the dark ages and don't know how to get pics from my phone onto the computer. Anyway, he sat up so well and loved it. Although it took as a few minutes to get him situated after that, he seemed to like riding in the sling that Grandma made while we chased Bear around the playground.
It had to be in the upper 60's today- perfect playground weather. It was wonderful taking advantage of it and getting fresh before winter returns.

hannah-isms
- big house!
- pool! more pool! (then she decides she wants to remain outside the pool, throwing ALL the toys and rafts in. if we take them out, she throws them right back in. she wanted everything except herself to be in the pool most of the day today. (the pic in the previous post was taken yesterday. for some reason she loved her raft then. today was another story.)
- while in the pool, i put a bucket on top of my head like a hat. hannah was standing on the concrete in front of me, and she did not want it there. she leaned over to try to take it off, but when she realized she could not reach it, she screamed at the top of her lungs out of frustration. she did NOT want to go in the water. aunt cheryl got her to swim with us for a little bit by playing with wiffle balls. that wore of pretty quickly. i finally got her to sit on the stoop at the shallow end and blow "bubbles" like she does in the bathtub. she also found great fun in standing under the outdoor shower to rinse off. we find that ironic because she hates when we pour water to rinse her in the bathtub.
- mommy: do you want to go inside?
hannah then proceeded to step into the pool, after spending most of the day avoiding actually getting in the water, but playing on the outside.
- gramma? coffee?!
- ocean
- as we walked on the boardwalk back from the dock, hannah had to stop at each and every post and stand on it. it was so cute! she is definitely developing her own sense of order and how things belong in her mind. just like all the pool toys had to be in the water, she had to step on each piling.

adventures at gramma & "ba-ba"'s
daddy is working in memphis, so mommy and i came, too!
i'm having a lot of fun. i especially like picking "fow-fuh" (flowers) and
giving kitty lots of hugs & kisses.
sitting in the swing and vacuuming are pretty cool,
and gramma is impressed by how much i like to play with my "kuh-wers" (crayons).

silly mommy should plan better...
after breakfast, mommy showed me how to finger paint. i created 10 custom cards for her to send to people, most likely grandparents, great-gramma, aunts & uncles, etc... she says they could be on display at the Met in New York someday; they are priceless.
of course I needed a bath after art time. but after bathtime, mommy wanted to go outside to play in the dirt. she promised grandaddy he can have some cherry tomato plants if the extra seeds take, so we dug dirt out of the big pot and patted it into small starter pots. we were a mess by the time we finished. i especially liked squishing the nice black dirt between my fingers and dumping it onto the grass. after the outdoor excitement, helping mommy water the flowers, dropping my pet rock on the front porch and seeing pieces splinter off from it and petting the lily leaves, it was time for the 2nd bath of the morning. it was also the perfect way to calm me down since i was growing cranky.
bath was followed by lunch, and mommy is typing this for me while i nap. (she can read my mind for things like this.)

Discovered wood chips
We returned some books to the library and renewed our "signing time" video check out. We also requested more from the series to be sent over from the main branch. I am really falling in love with the Nashville Public Library. Friendly, helpful staff at the branch I use, and there's a new playground behind the parking lot. As I dropped the books in the return slot, Hanna kept trying to run out the automatic door toward the parking lot... and the playground.
She had her blue tigger ball with her, but she was entranced by some other kids and their soccer ball. They were kind and shared with her. She wanted to kiss a 4 week old baby boy, but I wouldn't let her. She found the wood chips on the ground very fascinating. I had to watch carefully to ensure that she didn't eat them, as she dropped them through a 3" hole in a bench which served to funnel them to the ground.

trip to the park
Today was a warm, breezy day here.
Mommy thought I might like to go to the park.
It was such a big playground that between the wind
and the big, wooden structure sprawled in front of me,
I was not quite sure what to think.
I wanted to play with the big kids,
but most of them weren't
very friendly.
I also wanted to try to climb ladders,
but I could not figure out how.
entering the "castle"
watching the wind-whipped flag
stepping up to the challenge ahead
"finally, someone who understands me!"

it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood!
hannah-bear walked, holding my hand, on the sidewalk today. when we got to our next door neighbor's grass, she wanted to play on the "carpet". funny thing was she didn't seem to want to play on our yard. not that i would have let her, with the muddy spots.
