hannah-bear costume on order

I found this costume for $10 at BabyCenter. I'm hoping she'll keep the hat on, but after today's painting episode, which resulted in a bath to get the paint of her face and body, I am willing to take the gamble that she will let me paint her nose and still look bearish. And of course, there is the princess dress which she still refuses to keep on for more than 5 minutes, even though she will carry it around and say "pretty".

Wednesday- I just got an e-mail that it shipped today. I think I really like this tax-free/shipping-free online shopping.

lesson learned... and mommy's pride fed

This afternoon, we crossed paths with a sort-of famous person. Hannah and I met the individual, who was super nice and called my baby beautiful. Of course, I know she is, but it made me especially proud to hear it from the person who said it.

After we came inside, I noticed all of her shoes and my shoes all over the living area. "Let's pick our shoes up and put them by the door," I said, picking up one of my sets.

"No fits!" She exclaimed as she picked up her shoes and dropped them in their place. I gave her a big hug and thanked her for obeying right away.

lesson learned?

Me: "Please take off your shoes and put them by the front door."
Hannah: "No fits. Think about it!" (in a sing-songy tone)

After Daddy helped her take her shoes off, she obeyed right away. Apparently the consecutive time outs within the past week impacted her. This time.

Visit to the Zoo: With Daddy!

Hannah has been to our local zoo once before, and to the Indianapolis Zoo with her cousins, Aunt Cheryl, Gramma Debbie, and Mommy. But today was the first time Daddy has come to the zoo with us.

passing the blame

Hannah has figured out how to blame others. Quite frequently, she blames Mommy or Daddy for passing gas when it was really she who did it. While I was making dinner, somebody upstairs was a little gassy.

"Did you toot?" Daddy asked.
"Daddy toot? Breezy toot." Hannah responded promptly.

Breezy is a butterfly on one of her favorite videos.

jingle bells?

while we were browsing the dollar store today, hannah noticed the Christmas decorations. she asked for a set of bells, so i let her hold one. as she rolled through the store in the shopping cart, she jingled the bells with a huge grin on her face. it wasn't long before she started singing.... "jingle bells". i'm not sure when she last heard that song, but i don't think she was able to talk at that point. she ended up trading the bells for a princess balloon, which actually relieve me a bit because those bells were pretty loud.

Grandpa brings a present from Grandma

"Thank you!!!"

Why is there a blonde chick on my chest?

"Hannah, off!"

Hannah got to stay up late tonight so she could see Grandpa when he arrived. After we told her he was coming tonight, she kept asking if Grandma was coming too. He brought her a present from Grandma, and we convinced her to try it on. She love it at first. But she became annoyed that the sleeves kept falling off. She also either wanted to play with the Barbie brooch or tear it off, I'm not sure which. We'll have to make some minor adjustments in order to keep it on her. But there is plenty of room to grow, which is better than being too tight!

Grandpa started reading her a bedtime story, but Hannah was so tired that she only sat still for about 2 pages.

battle of the wills at wal-mart

Hannah and I went to pick up a few things today, and I decided to see if their toy clearance aisle was still set up. It was. I found some gift ideas for her birthday and/or Christmas presents, one of them was a set of horses which would fit perfectly in her toy barn (the one that her daddy and aunt and uncle used to play with.) I let her hold the box, and she soon began fussing for me to open the package so she could play with the horses. I explained that she could not play with them until her birthday (of course, she doesn't comprehend that quite yet, though she knows what "not now, means"), and that we had to pay for them before they are really ours.

She fussed halfway across the store. I told her that if she did not stop fussing, I would put the horses back. She kept fussing, and the horses did not come home with us. The funny thing was, once they were out of the cart, her mood improved and we managed to finish our shopping. I wanted to buy the horses for her, but I was not about to let her have a tantrum over opening the package.

Note to self- hit the clearance aisle after the rest of the items are in the cart, so if the tantrum escalates, all you have to do is check out. One woman smiled at me knowingly and said, "I've been there."

phrase of the week

"Bless you!"

If Mommy sneezes, Hannah exclaims ,"Bless you, Mommy!"
If Hannah sneezes and Mommy doesn't catch it in time, Hannah exclaims, "Bless you!" to herself. It's adorable.

Oh, and if I sneeze several times, she says "Bless you" after every sneeze.

1st time bowling!

Yesterday, while Daddy, Papa & Uncle Nate went motorcycle dream-shopping, Mommy, Grandma & Aunt Cheryl took me and my cousins bowling.

When we arrived, there was a grasshopper on the tile next to our table. Cousin Em rescued it from the bowling alley by putting it in a cup with a lid on it, and when we got home, she added it to her bug collection. I kept trying to pick up the 7, 10 and 13 lb bowling balls all by myself. They made loud thuds when I couldn't hold onto them, thankfully they did not hit my feet. The bowling alley had this cool ramp for us kids to use. We got to push the ball down the ramp into the lane. I even got a spare or two!

I liked dipping my tortilla chips in the cheese dip, Em and Mad preferred theirs plain.

I've had fun playing with my cousins on their swing set, chasing their kitty, and watching their huge TV.
